Biomass Energy

One of the reasons why biofuels are now considered to be among our best chances of turning around our devastating levels of pollution is because they can actually be produced through the use of garbage! More specifically, biomass includes anything from dead trees, tree branches, unused crops, used tires, livestock droppings and manure. Any type of fuel source that helps us to wean ourselves off of traditionally used petroleum based fuels is more than worth looking into!

While we are a long way off from actually implementing plans that educate homeowners and renters about the particular types of waste they normally throw out which can actually be selected for use as biomass energy, and putting that education into action, there are new organizations and associations currently helping to develop the means to pick up where we leave off.

One of the strongest points for using biomass for energy purposes is that it serves the dual function of both providing a renewable energy source as well as helping to significantly reduce the volume of waste that goes into landfills. All too often, it’s simply too easy to feature an out of sight, out of mind mentality with our garbage. But it so critically important to remember that once our garbage leaves our homes, it is then shipped off to overflowing landfills. It’s vital to keep in mind that waste and garbage is a responsibility shared by all of us, and we all need to get involved with reducing waste and reusing as much as possible.
